Iceland is geology at full volume: the Golden Circle's rifts and geysers, the Ring Road's waterfalls and glaciers, the lagoons' milky geothermal soaks, and the aurora overhead September–March. Planning figures: $180–250/day with the 4x4 and the fuel.
The classic route: Reykjavík (2) → the south coast (2–3) → the Golden Circle → the Snæfellsnes or the east fjords depending on days.

Where to Go
The Golden Circle (Þingvellir, Geysir, Gullfoss) is the day-trip classic. The south coast adds Seljalandsfoss, Reynisfjara and the glacier lagoon. The Ring Road takes 7–10 days. The Westfjords and the highlands are the second-trip Iceland.

- Ring Road: 7–10 days around the whole island.
- Aurora: September–March anywhere dark.
