Three days covers Athens' classical core: the Acropolis at 8am before the heat and the coaches, the Acropolis Museum's top-floor parthenon frieze, the National Archaeological Museum's bronzes, and Plaka's island-village lanes. Sunset from Mount Lycabettus closes two of the three days.

Day One: The Acropolis
The Parthenon at the 8am opening slot (timed tickets online), the Acropolis Museum's glass floors, and Plaka's lanes for lunch. Evening: taverna dinner under the floodlit rock.
Day Two: Museums & the Agora
The National Archaeological Museum's bronze Zeus and the Mask of Agamemnon, the Ancient Agora's Temple of Hephaestus, and the Anafiotika lanes clinging to the Acropolis's north slope.
Day Three: Lycabettus & Farewell
The Temple of Olympian Zeus, souvlaki at O Kostas, and the funicular or the climb up Mount Lycabettus for the sunset over the whole classical world.
