Singapore transit is the easiest in Asia: foreign contactless cards and phones tap directly at the MRT and bus gates — no EZ-Link purchase needed. Rides S$1–2.50; the day rarely exceeds S$5.

The Contactless MRT
Foreign cards and phones tap directly at the gates. The network covers every sight at 15-minute rides. The underground city-link malls connect downtown hotels to the malls — use them during the hot middays.
Grab vs MRT
Grab costs 3–5× the MRT but solves the rain and the shopping bags. The strategy: MRT by default, Grab for the airport with luggage and the tropical downpours.
