Two days in Paris is a museum, two neighborhoods, and two dinners — anything more and the weekend starts working against itself. The plan: day one on the islands and in the Marais, day two across the river in Saint-Germain and up in Montmartre.
At roughly €150 a day, the weekend runs about €300 excluding transport. The advance-planning load is tiny: one museum slot, two dinner reservations.

Day 1
Islands & the Marais

Day 2
Saint-Germain & Montmartre
Museum at opening, a long formule lunch, Saint-Germain's bookshop-and-café circuit, then Montmartre's lanes and the view. Croissants for the train.
The One-Museum Rule
Pick one: the Louvre's 9am slot for first-timers, d'Orsay for the manageable two hours, the Orangerie for Monet and out by lunch. Two museums in 48 hours costs a neighborhood — a bad trade in the world's most walkable museum-free city.
Two Evenings, Booked
Paris weekends punish walk-ins. Reserve Friday and Saturday dinners in advance — one Saint-Germain bistro, one Marais or Canal Saint-Martin spot — and walk the Seine after both. The night river is the best free attraction in Europe.
