The Dawn Culture
Ubud's best hours are before 9am: the Campuhan Ridge Walk's grass spine, the terraces before the tour vans, and the water temples before the ceremony crowds. The jet lag hands you the dawn — use it.

The Monkey Forest Protocol
The Sacred Monkey Forest's macaques are habituated and bold: strap sunglasses to your bag, zip pockets, and don't carry loose food. The forest itself is a beautiful temple complex — the monkeys are the bonus, not the point.
The Food Scene
Ubud's food runs from warung nasi campur at $2 to Locavore's tasting menus at $100+. The raw-food cafés, the Balinese classics (babi guling, bebek betutu) and the plant-forward innovators all coexist within a mile.
