Seoul's transit is the world's most underrated: spotless, English-signposted, cheap and 24-hour on the key lines. The T-money card dissolves everything; Line 2 circles the city; the KTX connects the country.

Day 1

T-money taps, Line 2's loop, the 30-minute transfer trick.
The T-money Setup
Buy at any convenience store (₩4,000) or load on your phone — it covers subway, buses, taxis and convenience stores. Transfers between subway and bus are free within 30 minutes. The system does the math; you tap.

The Line 2 Logic
Line 2 is the loop — Hongdae, City Hall, Gangnam, and everywhere between. Stay near it and every first-timer destination is one ride. Line 3 adds the palaces; the KTX at Seoul Station connects Busan in 2h40.
Midnight & Taxis
Key lines run past midnight; the last trains thin after 1am. Taxis are metered, cheap and safe — the base fare is ₩4,800 — and the late-night surcharge still beats most cities' day rates.
