Two days in Seoul covers the royal core and one youth district comfortably — the city's subway geometry favors the sprint. Day one is palaces and hanok lanes; day two is the Seoul you came to eat in.
At roughly $100 a day, the trip runs about $200 excluding flights. Stay near Line 2 (Hongdae, Euljiro or Gangnam) and every day starts one ride from anywhere.

Royal Seoul

Shopping and cafés, street-food lunch, tower view at dusk, and the night that runs — buskers, markets, noraebang if game.
Day One: The Royal Core
Gyeongbokgung at 9am for the guard ceremony, a hanbok rental to make the palace photos and the entry free, Bukchon's lanes before they fill, Ikseon-dong's café alleys for lunch, and Insadong for souvenirs. Evening: your first Korean BBQ — staff-grilled, banchan refilled, cheap.
Day Two: The Youth District
Pick Hongdae (buskers, street food, cafés) or Itaewon (global food, rooftops) and commit. Morning shopping, street-food lunch, and the evening that explains Seoul's reputation. N Seoul Tower or Lotte World Tower's view slots in before dinner if the sky is clear.
